the other thing is, i dont need good speakers, i have JBL creatures that i hook up to my current laptop, so i dont need them i dont think, unless the bad speakers hurt the quality of sounds coming out of my external speakers.... Also i use a Linksys wireless card that sticks out the side of my dell, so i am hoping the compaq (whats the difference between the two otehr then the speakers? because i dont need the speakers...) or the HP, whenever i get the answer to the question in the parantheses, i will know which one i want, but i am hopig they have a port for a wirelss card., So i dont think i need the updated connection stuff unless that lets my CURRENT wireless card have more power, so i can go farther away, but actually i dont really need that either because my laptop is always pretty close to the router. I need the 1394 connection so on the HP, i dont know about the compaq, the upgraded graphics card was needed (need it for my 3g ipod!). so get back to me please! whats ure aim sn? we could talk on there about it!

thanks alot!

Oh, yeah, the two HPs I linked to are faster than both that Gateway and your previous laptop. Your previous laptop only had a 7500, and the Gateway has a GMA900, both of which are much slower than the XMA200 in the HPs.
Actually based on preliminary testing on the X300 IGP, GMA900 is a good bit faster in 3DMark01. not conclusive testing yet I know, but its not looking good for the Xpress200M chipset
