Diesel has a few shoes that look like complete rip offs of skate shoes. I'm not sure why the name on the shoe makes a difference. I'm not saying I don't like them, but to make a blanket statement that diesel is a big boy shoe is a little odd, since all the models for diesel look like abercrombie and old navy alumni.

There is a large difference in the quality of the shoe and the comfort when you get a Diesel compared to others. I had some Diesels that people always mistook for All-Stars but they were much more comfortable. Even if they mimic a popular look, there is significant differences.

Nice, I might check them out then. I like the styles they have, if they are really comfortable that would be great. Skate shoes tend to focus their quality on the ankle support, outside durability, soles and their ability to take impact, sometimes sacrificing inside comfort. When I skated that was fine, but a lot of the shoes make my feet sweat too much because they are layered to offer this durability.

I'm leaning towards this ( for a work casual/semi athletic shoe ):

But zappos doesn't have my size, and I already have Tigers so I might just get those later when my size is available ( or find another retailer ).

I've never had a pair of Vans. Does this pair look ok? Would anyone wear it?

Vans used to be awesome until about ten years ago. They were comfortable and never wore out. Now they're pretty much hit or miss.

My suggestion? Give Simple a try. Well-made, durable and very comfortable.
