Figured this was the best place for this. what i need are 2 lights that put out a insane amount of light but at the same time are pretty small.

This is for work and we use the lights to illimunate the front of a flat product for photography, because of the nature of what im taking pictures of we need a large amount of light outoput to quote some we need to.

we have been using 2 halogen flood lights for this but we require a new solution.

I was thinking of a high power LED array but im not sure that will work. but i figured someone else out there would have a suggestion. These do not need to be photo specific lights, running them off normal AC power is ideal

So this is for photos only? No video?

Why do you need a large amount of light? What is your Budget?

yes photos only. need that much light because of the nature of what im taking pictures of, cant actually tell you

budget is pretty open, prob anything under 1k

i basically need the lightoutput of one of these or something close, but without the massive heat generation and fire hazard/ burn concerns. needs to be 2 lights that i can place apart from each other angled into what im shooting at , light output area only needs to cover about a 2 foot circle about 3 feet from the source

Can you just use a bunch of flashes?

you can just set up two groups and have each group composed of as many flashes as you need.

i could but i need to keep it as simple as i can. if it was just me using it then i would just set up a strobe system but its not, simply turning it on/off cant really be buggered up

A simple speed-light will generate significant more light than those halogens, but require battery's and will have a longer time to recycle than studio strobes.

But with that budget I'd suggest looking into Alien Bees or some other type of studio strobe, as they run on AC power and have replaceable bulbs. An AB400 will generate about 2X more light than most speedlights, while the AB800 will double the AB400s power and AB1600 will double the AB800. Or the difference of one stop each model.

What apertures are you mostly using?

Something to take into consideration, there can be issues with having too much power in a strobe.

And don't forget to budget for triggers and light modifiers.

i guess i should have mentioned i need this to be as compact as possaible. when presented with the question the bees was the first thing i thought of, however they are too bulky for what i need, I really need a 1 foot long 3 inch thick LED strip. does not need to be camera equip specific. i just figured this would be the best place to ask.

kinda like this, which i found after posting this, however this might actually be slight overkill, but its in the correct direction

the reason for the size is that i need to attach all this to a cart that is roughly 3 feet wide and 4-5 feet long, on wheels and 100% moveable. camera mounted on 1 end, what im taking photos of on the other end. reason for the huge amount of light is to overcome the fact that im not using a telecentric lens or light souce. which can be done to the extent we need,
