So I've been here for a long damn time, and there have been some pretty fucking memorable threads. I've been thinking about stories from here and writing down what I remember, but I know I'm forgetting some doozies. My idea is to make a text adventure that incorporates the goings on from here. So basically it would be a very niche game seeing how only the old schoolers from here would understand what the hell's going on. I'm thinking of a mixture of threads here that are a part of the quest, like you have to steal TridenT's expensive trash can. And others that are just random in the game and don't have anything to do with the quest part. The trash can was just something that popped in my head to try and explain. It might end up being you stealing his Froot Loops.
Basically, this will be a stupid ass game that won't have any appeal. But in my head, a game that documents some of the more unusual shit that's gone down here could possibly make for a weird and enjoyable adventure. I played a ton of Zork and other text adventures growing up so they have a soft spot in my heart. I don't even have a draft of what the actual point of the game will be. I feel all that will come together when I have a list of content to use and can figure out what can be tied together and make some sort of LOTR travel to Mordor level adventure. I do want to flesh it out and make it a real text adventure with a story, puzzles, combat and all that.
All I'm asking for is some reminders of some of the better stuff from here. I wrote the shit that came to mind down, but I'm failing to come up with a lot. My memory of details sucks, and my searching skills are bad. So links to the threads would be awesome. Or at least a summary of the thread and who started it if the name is important to the thread. Little easter eggs would especially be nice here. Like the dude who saw the UPS driver taking a piss in his bushes.
I still need to read the Inform 7 manual and learn how to use it, so I'm good way off from starting. I know this is a pretty pointless idea but in my mind, with all the wild shit that's been posted here, it could shape into a fun lil something.
so off of my head:
TridenT - there's a ton of shit he's posted that would make for quality content here. He'll definitely be a character in the game. What comes to mind is the Froot Loops pic, him bragging about the elite trash can he bought and him talking about the females who weren't super hot but were hit it and quit it able.
The UPS man whizzing in dudes bushes - this always makes me laugh when I think about it.
The infamous alternator sized chunk of beef.
