Steam it. Get huge pot and fill water in it, boil the water, then get a stand and put the small pot of rice and water on top of the boiled water, then do a slow heat, until it's cooked. Thats my mom's method when we have a large pot of soup, she just uses the boiled soup to steam the rice.

i recommend basmati rice. you'll never use the cheap stuff again. Sam's club carries it in big bags.

The Asian method of cooking rice is the most borring in the world.....steam rice, white steam rice & more steam rice.

Many other cultures add a bit of stock that greatly enhance the rice.

Stock: tomato, seafood, chicken, beef, fruit juice, curry (all with onion and/or garlic).

My favorite stock is tomato/seafood from central/south America & Spain, and northern Africa/middle east curry rice.

Also try Google for recipe.

yes, you can buy smaller quantities at bigger grocers, but it'll be more expensive than bulk at Sams, thats all I was getting at. Try the Basmati.
