Looking for some business suggestions

Anyone out there have a business that took limited overhead or have ideas that would require low overhead?

My job is hanging on by a string and would like to start getting some extra money on the side while it is still on the side...any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Its useless asking us for ideas when we dont know what you can do 🙂 You are far better qualified to answer that question than we are.

LAN Support/Configuration
WAN Support/Design/Implementation

I have a Degree in Management Information Systems so everything that comes with that.

Plus I am an excellent speaker and salesman.

Those are the skills I can think of, again thanks!

Hmm..

Well of course there is the obvious 'build PCs for anyone who will buy them' route... but I wouldnt bother since its a very competitive market.

The other end of the scale is to start a company that caters for other companies in providing them with complete IT solutions (however this would so easily turn into a full time job).

Any others with some ideas?

The PC market is saturated. You may end up screwing yourself. Overhead is low however, as you don't have to stock your inventory (like if you do freelance networking, you can order the cable and ends per job.. build PC's but don't stock the parts), but without local support for your needs and a good client base to start with, you may not make any money for a long time.

The industry needs some good people. Unfortunately, the industry is full of dumb asses and the powers that be and the customers that pay them do not realize this. Damn shame.

Consider something outside of computers like a bicycle shop?? Just a thought. 😉
