Looking For Saxophone Tune

lxskllr

No Lifer
It was probably made between 1959 and 1963. It has a surf/rockabilly feel, and a really gritty sax with heavy bass. Most likely a tenor sax, but it could be a baritone played high.

It's a stretch, but listen to the first part of this song. Some of it got cut off, and the sound is feeble rather than gritty, but the tune structure of the sax is similar. It may be enough to clue someone in to what I mean.

There's probably 5 people on this board who know the tune. I hope one of them reads the thread, and can figure it out :^D

Yakety sax?

Almost definitely not Boots unless he did stuff I'm totally not familiar with. The sound is very gritty. It's got that coarse 50s R&R sound, where it sounds like the mics are being overdriven.

After listening to Rebel Rouser, I have that sax stuck in my head, and I'm losing the little bit I remembered :^D

The tune I'm thinking of has more of a Duane Eddy feel. It may even be him. I guess I should checkout more on Youtube. I wish I could pull more of the tune from head. I've got the main riff, but the rest is blank :^/

Wow, I remember listening to that Duane Eddy stuff when I was a kid.

Thanks for the throw back

Brings back some good memories.
