I wanna make my PC "A" to directly connect to Internet. Then make a connection from "A" to router, so that other PCs can share Internet connection. The reason I'm doing it is that I will change back to 56k dial-up.

But I am wondering how to do the part: sharing PC's direct incoming Internet connection with other PCs through router. Does anyone know how to do this?

eh....ditch the router, and use ICS if you have to share a 56K, why would you want the router? You can still use the LAN or Switch ports, but turn of DHCP (ICS will do that).

As nweaver said it is puzzling why you need the Router (may be Wireless)?

However you have to use ICS to Route the DialUp Modem to the NIC on the first computer and feed it to the Router?s WAN port.

You have to configure the WAN port to be on an IP that complies with ICS IP scheme.

or really, just forget about the router portion, use the LAN ports and disable DHCP on the router, it will save you some serious frustration if you do not understand fully what you are trying to do.

Router is a must coz I have other computers in connection.

I turned off router's DHCP. I enabled sharing on the internet NIC, and lan NIC shows 192.168.0.1. But then... no connection (light is not on) when connecting lan NIC and router's WAN port.
I tried connect to other port, but can't connect to internet from 2nd computer.

Any idea?

Plug all computers into regular ports on the router. There should be nothing plugged into the WAN port. Disable and re-enable the network connection on the 2nd computer (or release/renew the ip). If the internet still doesn't work then post the results of this here:

Click Start-> Run. Type: cmd and click ok. Type: ipconfig /all

Thanks, I got my internet connection working.

I am puzzling... so LAN port cable cannot connect to WAN?

Originally I wanna put other computers in different network, like x.x.1.x something, then bridging the two networks, in order to have internet connection and two networks the same time.
