Need a nice card (without spending $100) to hook my Icy Dock + Momentus 7200.4 into. I dont want to mess with USB2 speeds for any longer than I have to. Thanks in advance.

I got this one from Newegg for my older HP dv1000.

PCMCIA

Then last year I got the PCExpress version, also from Newegg, same brand (Vantec.) It is faster than the Cardbus version, and I use it frequently with my Lenovo T60. It is worth the extra $10. A cloning job via USB2 takes about an hour. Same job with this puppy takes 12 minutes.

Sorry about posting more than once, wasnt really sure where to put this. Have any idea on the quality of the Vantec as opposed to other manufacturers? I like their fans, but have no experience with any other hardware of theirs.

Edit: The only review on Newegg is a negative one, granted I don't always believe what solitary reviews say and since you didn't mention any problems, I will assume that you didn't have any. Good to know about the Lenovo, it will be going in my T61.

I give Vantec top marks. I don't know about Newegg user reviews - I never pay any attention to them. I also have two Vantec eSATA external drive cases, and one of them is used to back up my Lenovo's HDD via the eSATA Express card.
