I just bought my new Dell 8100 series custom laptop, but one thing REALLY bothers me. Those so-called PC Card placeholoders don't stay in their damn slots. Many times I find myself lifting the laptop and nearly dropping it because those damn flimsy plastic things fall right out.

I remember seeing something a long time ago. It was a business card, printed on an actual PCMCIA/PC Card shell (empty of course).
This would be the perfect solution because it would actually fit over the pins on the inside, providing better protection, and higher friction so it wouldn't fall out. I would be willing to buy anyone's non-functioning PC Card just to use it as a placeholder.

I need two!

I'm not familiar with the Dell 8100 laptop, but doesn't it's PC card slots have those retractable flap thingies? If so, why would you even need the placeholders or even dead PC cards?

Not trying to crap in your thread... just making an observation... ;)

No, there is a big gaping hole where the PC cards go.
Not like on other laptops i have seen with flipping doors.
I am disappointed with the engineering put into the Inspiron 8100 laptop
There are other quirks as well...

The best design is the Compaq 1800 series laptop, talk about SMOOTH.
I also have one of these, but they do not offer it with the Geforce2go
