I just got NFS Shift and am goin to play that while i mine in eve online but any oppinions on the best racing games available right now that has good graphics and circuit racing im not really into the racing through city streets i want the best simulation experience possible.

ya i had gtr2 back and f1 was fun but really looking for a forza type if there is one on pc if not ill stick with shift and shift 2

I liked F1 2010 -- I would think you could find it cheaply as well.

I'd also have you consider Dirt 2 (not circuit racing, I know) --- i'm almost done with Dirt 3, but I think I found Dirt 2 more enjoyable.

They need to patch Dirt3. Those gymkhana sections suck ass...they need to go. I stopped playing because of them.

alright ya ill try dirt 2 i like rally racing i appreciate it everyone love this forum been looking at it for a couple months now at work its the only one thats not blocked lol but very enjoyable killing time at work

If rally, Richard Burns Rally will punish you into the ground. 🙂

If you're a sim-nut, you'll enjoy every minute of it as well.

I still think 2010's Hot Pursuit is the best of the Need For Speed games. It's very similar to criterion's burnout series.

All the codemasters racing games are worth a look, Dirt, Grid etc.

NFS: Porsche Unleashed has been the staple for me still.

It was leagues ahead of its time when released (full interior) and had physics that were very convincing, erring on the sim side.

Even compared to today's racers, I still hold that gem in high regard.

Grid is tons of fun. Same engine as Dirt 2, so if that runs well, so will Grid. Not a perfect sim but fun nonetheless. And the menus are less annoying than Dirt 2.

You need to play with a wheel or a gamepad to be successful at the gymkhana sections. Dirt 3 is a racing game anyway; you should know better than to race with a keyboard.

QFT. I prefer sim-like racing games and it's the best rally game I've ever played, much better than the CMR series IMO. Playing with a wheel, the cars felt like they had real weight to them, whereas I always found the cars in CMR to have a "floaty" feel to them.

If you're after sims, rFactor and Simbin games are much better than any Codemasters or EA game.

Since you seem to be a Need For Speed fan - check out Need For Speed World. It's completely free, save for real world money to spend on cars, powerups and the like. It's pretty fun, there is a nice range of cars to choose from and for the most part the community is pretty decent. I should add that you can also purchase cars with ingame money and when you create a driver, there are already about 8 or 9 cars to choose from at the start.

I would also recommend Trackmania, either the newest or Trackmania United Forever. Great arcade racing and fantastic track editor.
