Hard data on all the good fans:

XS Fan Tests

No need to go off anecdotal observations, everything you need to know is right there. You are interested in the highest CFM point of the 'Low Speed' fans, which corresponds to 12V (no rheobus).

Looks like your best bets are the Yate Loons from Petra's. The Scythe 'Minebea', Silverstone FN121, and Noctua 1200 are all right there too.

Personally, I run undervolted San Ace 1011s and Panaflo Hs. I hate the failure mode of sleeve bearing fans (grinding noise).

PWM means your limited to only 1 header on your entire board blain.

The arctic cooling fans have a male power plug on them so they're designed to daisy chain up to i think 4 fans together. They are all controlled at the same RPM as the cpu fan, so as cpu gets hotter they ramp up. This also allows the fans to be controlled from only 1 motherboard power header. I've never tried AC fans though so I can't vouch for their effectiveness, I use a 92mm yate loon out the back of my case and a 92mm on my little Asus V72 cpu sink and thats it. I had an intake fan in the front but it didn't really push alot of air so i ditched it at no detriment to temps.
