Specs listed below. Just looking for a new heatsink and fan, using retail now running around 50 c standby and 57 58 C gaming. Room temp isnt to bad but think i need a bigger and better hs.Thanks for the info.

The funny thing is i already orderd that heatsink 2 weeks ago from newegg, when it came in i couldnt get it to fit on board. Well then i look at the heatsink paper and notice i ordered the wrong one, i ordered the opertan and 64. DUH>>>>>>>>>

I just ordered a couple Thermal Integration V77L HSFs (9$ at newegg - 13$ shipped separately - can be had for even less at CPUtopia.com if you're willing to risk a new company based in Nev.) and a couple of 80-70mm adapters from SVCompucycle.com (I've been having difficulty getting to their site if I use SVC.com). The V77L works very well with its stock 70mm fan (IMO, the HS itself is one of the best designs around), but just a tad noisy. I'll let you know how my experiment turns out.

I almost did that too. I think it mistakenly comes up if you do search for Socket 370 /Socket A. I had it in the cart and everything.

The SilentBoost is NOT 21dBA. The Panaflo L1A is rated 21dBA and spins at 1700RPM. The Panaflo that the SilentBoost uses is an M1A and spins at ~2450RPM. Unless those slits on the fan that the SilentBoost has signficantly decreases noise levels, I always call BS on that 21dBA rating. Furthermore, there are 2 models of the SilentBoost. One comes with Panaflo fan and the other comes with a regular ball bearing fan. The model number is slightly different, but they're both SilentBoost.

Oh yeah, I used to have the SilentBoost myself and have installed it on other people's PCs 🙂
