Plays MP3 CD's *and* shows ID3 tags.
AM/FM radio.

Must have all these. I wanted a Panasonic, but they don't make one with all these features.
Is there one? Not worth it if it's some no name brand that'll quit in a month.

Added bonus for remote control (wired or wireless), can recharge batteries while in player, backlit LCD.

Thanks, biostud. I've been avoiding buying Sony for awhile now, but looks like I have no choice. And I'd buy Sony before some noname junk. That looks like a pretty nice player. Now for a hot deal. :)

Actually I don't need AM radio, just FM.
Are the iriver CD players reliable? Is there a certain model you'd recommend? And a place to buy it?

sorry man, I was looking for DVD players when I asked that - thought it might fit your needs better, but .. it turns out they sucked batteries and no one really developed the concept after '02 I guess.
Anyway, I personally have a sony cd/mp that I'm happy with (no radio though).
You seem put off by sony and mention panasonic ..
this one has the features you mention, and is panasonic. I  panasonic too, but I'm sorry - it's butt ugly.

Edit: okay, I know sony supports ID3, but the panasonic site is pretty unnavigable. I'd be surprised if it didn't, but until I find otherwise, I'd say I didn't meet your criteria.

Hm. This one specifically supports ID and has remote, but no radio.

Yeah, I like the Panasonic players and recommended to them the past couple years that they need a model with those features. I thought they might finally put one out this year, but nope.
