And you are gonna put 18 inchers on a 1500 Ram? Do you have any idea how rough the ride when unloaded is going to become? You are gonna go from 5" of sidewall to 3. A huge portion of the dampning is done by the sidewall in a Ram when unloaded. On top of this, you are going to be adding 15-20 lbs of sunsprung weight. Not only does this make the ride even worse, it is going to slow down the acceleration by a noticable degree, expecialy if you only have 3.73:1 gears.
The only reason you should be switching rim size in a Ram is because you got a big brake kit and the stockers will not fit anymore. If you did go this way, then I hope you got new springs & shocks at the same time, or you are going to spend 2k on rims that you will not use, because the ride is too crappy. Good luck putting a 18" tire on a 16" rim.
If you don't give a rat's ass about handling or acceleration, and only want to look bling bling, then be my guest. 4WheelWholesalers has a good selection of 18's in the Ram's bolt pattern.
By the way, if you are going wider with the tires, a '99 1500 will clear 12.50"s with a non-stock backspacing. Stock & 12.50 will get you some tire rub on the bumper @ full stuff @ lock.
