Looking for Photo editing software

I'm looking for a decent photo editing software that is very simplistic. Image resizing, conversion, and a few image enhancement/correction features.

I use Corel's Photo-Paint, which is like Photoshop, but I'm looking for something much less complicated. Something with maybe a couple of nice features but a really small learning curve. Not too many buttons or confusing options. More or less, built for idiots.

While free is always nice, I'm more than willing to pay for a decent program like this, so don't rule out anything because of price.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Well, the Gimp is free.
I'd also have to say its one of the most accurately named programs ever made.

I like Corel too, am currently using version 11. 12 seemed too weird for me.
For free I like the photo program that comes with ACDSee.

If you mean totally free I guess I'd have to say: PaintDotNet.

We used to have a really good freeware/shareware thread here in the forums and it had about a dozen graphic programs most of which were OK.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Paint.net looks a bit more complicated than what I want. I may go with Irfanview; that looks simplictic enough, but I did some checking and Ulead's PhotoImpact looks pretty good. The new version has an idiot mode to go along with its more advanced features. I'm going to download the trial and take a look. I still use their old SmartSaver Pro program for graphics optimization, and have fooled around with earlier versions of PhotoImpact.
