Hi everyone,
I have run the gamut of trying different keyboards over the years, and happened to try my friends compaq laptop the other day , and loved the feel of it.
Anyone know of a full sized keyboard with the laptop feel?

The Logitech Ultra X might be what you're looking for. It has a proper layout (no misplaced keys like a laptop) and it's full size. Here's a link to my thread on it. I've yet to order one, but maybe soon. :)

EDIT: Oh no, Newegg doesn't carry it anymore! Z-Buy is now the only place I know of that sells them for a reasonable price.

WTF is up with some of the on-line prices for this puppy? I saw anywhere from 75 to 100 clams for this! Ordered from Zbuy- thanks for the tip- I think this is exactly what I was looking for :)

Newegg still carries it, they're just out of stock right now.

Another great alternative is the PSK5000. It's exactly the same key layout/construction and feel as the Logitech (I have both the Logitech and the PSK5000) but it's USB instead of PS/2. It even has 2 USB ports on the rear of the keyboard.

Hmm, I pull up a blank page from Newegg, Ralf. The PSK5000 would be great if I wasn't using a PS/2 only kvm. :( Resinboy, post your impressions on the keyboard when it arrives. :D

got it a few hours ago- taking a while to get to used to it for sure- full sized keyboard- reallly good tactile feel to the keys for sure- even though I am a "watch my fingers" typer, I am still having a little hard time feeling that my hands are centered on the keyboard, as there are no gaps between the QAZ keys and the Tab/Caps lock area- I am finding myself hitting the damn CaPsLoCk by accident all the time.
Feels solidly built, quiet as hell- looks really nice on the desk.
I'll use it for a day, then post back.
EDIT-also wanted to mention that the shortcut keys on the top are really handy, ESPECIALLY the mute button- nice when blasting the tunes and the phone rings, no more reaching for the volume knob on the Klipsch's :)

I see that now... interesting. I type a little unorthodox from some people. I don't look at the keys when typing (I actually type slower that way!) but the only time I use my pinkies is for hitting shift, caps, ctrl, or enter.

Yeah, that's 'cause they pulled it off their site sometime in the 3 days since I wrote that post. Pretty typical for Newegg. Things disappear and reappear on a regular basis in Neweggworld. :)

ok: here's my big conclusion:
I like it :)
I am used to banging the crap out of my keys, (probably from playing too many FPS games), but after having it for a day now, I have gotten used to it, and the number of mistyped keys is back to my NORmal amount LOL.
