Looking for P-M ULV laptop

Im currently looking for a laptop with Pentium M ULV cpu and 12in widescreen. Has to support between 1.5-2gb ram, 40-60gb, wireless, and maybe an integrated cd/dvd drive. Thing is my budget is around $1200 and thats including an extra 1gb stick of ram so one that takes ddr2 would be best as its very cheap right now. Is there something reliable out there at this price range?

If you don't mind Semprons, Averatec's got a dece that's cheap, too. Here

From what I've seen, most ULV's are thrown into thin and portables, which in turn get marked up because they're thin and portable. Your price range limits your options here.

Well main reason for wanting a ULV is best possible battery life. Mostly i will be using it for Office, wireless internet and some very light autocad work.

Just priced a dell inspiron 700m w/ 2ghz p-m and extra 8 cell battery for $1220 shipped. Think im gonna go for that instead.

Smaller laptops use less power but they carry a less powerful battery. If you get the battery extension on the 700m, you're looking at around 7 hours of battery life.

Normal P-Ms undervolt extremely well, you can use a program like RMClock or Notebook Hardware Control to set the voltage levels to lower than ULV models. Still there isn't won't be much difference in battery life because all P-Ms use very little power in typical usage, the battery life will be dominated by the rest of the laptop's components.

So does anyone have any experience with a dell 700m? How much total battery life could i get with 2 8 cell batteries and undervolting the proc? 10 hours maybe?

Ok i just customized this system at dell:

Inspiron 700m Intel® Pentium® M Processor 755(2 GHz/400MHz FSB) 12.1-in WXGA

Additional Batteries 8-cell Lithium Ion Additional Battery (65 WHr)
Hardware Warranty 1Yr Ltd Warranty, 1Yr Mail-In Service, and 1Yr HW Warranty Support

You guys think I can find a system with better specs than these at a better price or should I just go for it and order it right now?

Is there a 500 off 1500 coupon right now? I'd coupon it down before buying. BTW if I were the buyer I'd config with less ram, a slower cpu, or even the base hard disk to save tons of money. It'd be cheaper to add ram on your own (~$70 for 1gb pc2-4200) and put in a sweet hard disk yourself. As for the cpu, I personally don't think upgrading cpu speed on a laptop will be worthwhile.

The saved $? You could upgrade the warranty or just pocket it. But anyway, the big thing is to see if you can get those 500/1500 coupons and any other smaller coupons to stack on top.

That right there is with a $750 coupon. You get a better system by stacking it to the max and using that one instead of the $500 coupon for 1500.
