great card, GF has one on her Sempron 3200 with 2 gigs of memory, has ran every gave we've thrown at it with nice frames. I played Bioshocked almost maxed out and Gears Of War cranked up, not all the way but it looked good and moved.

Depends what you want to play really and at what settings/resolution you're happy with. Crysis I wouldn't think would be playable unless it's like 800x600 however the UT3 engine based games seem much less taxing on the GPU and still looks great, so gears, bioshock, UT3 all based on the same engine should be fine. Source games will be fine (HL2, CSS etc).

$200 for a X1950? God no. Get a 3850 Here for cheaper and performance wise it is infinitely a better buy than a X1950.

i played crysis multiplayer on 1650pro @ 1900x1200 everything low and it ran smooth. Just need to play the game at low setting.

No reason to buy the 1950 anymore. add just a little mroe and get a HD 3850.

but monetary considerations aside, I can attest that this card performs very good in all DX9 games (i've just finished playing the Oblivion expansion with all graphics on very high except shadows and AA with my midrange rig).

$199 for a 512MB ATI x1950pro is an absolute rip-off. I paid around 140 for my 256MB x1950, brand new in Chile no less. For that price you're better off trying to get an ATI HD3850. A little more expensive, but much faster.

EDIT: Just checked he just linked a 3850 on his latest post for $200. Go for it.
