Looking for nice wide, deep computer desk

I need a nice big desk (at least 5 ft) with lots of legroom for my new house. The pic below is a desk I found on CL and exactly what I'm looking for, but it's too far out of town for me to deal with picking up not owning a truck. I'd really like to keep it $150 or less and and should have at least one drawer. Disassembled would be great since I can't transport one myself.

I used a old 7ish foot tall door on 2 file cabinets as a desk. Eventually replaced the file cabinets with 2 Ikea Alex drawer units and added a couple of table legs to the back to help support the center.

In the past I also used 2 file cabinets with a 6 foot length of laminate countertop, but, the that same section of countertop was repurposed as the popcorn counter when I built my dedicated theater room 🙂

Do you have an Ikea near by? With Ikea you can design and assemble your own desk by picking the top, legs and drawers. Their stuff is going last a longer than any of that MDF junk.

I did see this before, I'm not sure why I passed on it the first time. It's kinda silly that the drawers are the most expensive part, but you know for $156 delivered to my door I think we have a winner.

I have an old huge L shaped office desk. You might check around you for office supply places as they usually have warehouses of used stuff.

The tables tops come in different size and you can get adjustable legs as well. We did this configuration for my son. The cubes can hold bins or be turned into drawers.

Just buy a lab bench. Many times they are always deep and wide and often rated to hold 1 ton so if you ever outgrow it then at least you can put a fish tank on it.

Do you have any Habitat for Humanity Restore locations near you or other similar second hand stores? That's where I got my wide, deep desk made of real wood. Its heavy as hell but a I got it for ~$30 (this was also like 8 years ago)

I begged my dads cousin to build mine. He's got a full wood shop. I really liked the design of this 3 layer desk.

My last full time job, the CEO and a major department manager both replaced their desks. I found out about it, had a look and told them to not have the smaller old one removed, that'd I'd gladly take it off their hands. I borrowed a friend's truck to get it home. It sits now in my computer room, a lovely big all wooden affair with smooth as silk drawers and two slide in/out extensions on either side. On it I have two monitors, a laptop, my midtower's keyboard, an FM receiver and front and middle speakers, my cordless phone receiver, my NAS, and probably some things I forget now.

I did hit up a local used office furniture outfit for both of my desk chairs -- high end Case chairs and I love them.

Welp I ended up going with the Linnmon and Alex drawer. I like it so far. Adding the Kallax shelves on the other end would be sweet but looks like I'm just barely out of room, it would make the entire width less than 2 inches over 6 ft.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

When we move into the new house I'm gonna build something with lumber and my two little midget girly hands.
Tired of trying to find the perfect desk.
