Iwill slotkey
Enhanced Memory system's 128mb HSDRAM

If you're looking for a P3, then the best bang for the buck is P3-700E cB0.
I think cC0 stepping is out for 800mhz, but damn hard to find one.
933mhz is easy with 700E. With good cooling and high quality sdram module you can reach 1Gh+.

If you're interested, I have a P3-700E for sale. ^_^;
I was running it at 1Gh/1.80v with CUSL2.

Hi Link, can you tell me why the P3-700E cBO is the choice you mention for overclocking. What is the cBO all about? In your opinion, how would the above chip perform with 256mb of Mushkin PC133 ram Rev 2 CAS 2 2 2. Just curious as I'm begining to OC a P3-733 now and I'm not sure how far it will let me go. Currently running 150-150-37 @ 1.65v core. Looking forward to hearing a reply please.

The MSI-6163 Pro is based on the BX chipset.

You have to worry about your AGP card.

The CPU itself can probably run up to 933 or so. But you probably won't get more than 850 out of it because of limitations of the AGP card since the BX only has a 2/3 AGP divider.

You can get 825 out of most 550e CPUs and therefore the 733 is a terrible overclocking 'value'.

The best value on the market right now is the Duron 600.

The best value on the Intel side is probably the 600e or 650e because some of them can reach 150mhz FSB. But most AGP cards can't do that in a BX board so your best value is the 700 or 750 and shooting for 133mhz FSB.

I think the 733 is the worst overclocker chip.

Thanks IaPup, I am using a ASUS CUSL2. Would that make any difference as far as AGP goes? I can get a great deal on a Intel Pentium III-800EB Micro-Processor 133 MHZ or a Intel Pentium III-800 Micro-Processor 100 MHZ. Would either of those be better for overclocking on the CUSL2 than a 733?

Great!..you have everything you need to overclock a cpu.
ok..733mhz has 5.5(x133mhz) multiplier so even if your system parts can handle 150mhz FSB(front side bus), 825mhz is as high a 733EB can be overclocked. Meanwhile, with 700E with 7 mutiplier(x100mhz), it can easily be o/ced to 933(7x133). I ran my system; P3-700E(for sale), CUSL2(sold), and 128mb Mushkin PC133 ram Rev 2(I'm keeping it), extremely stable at 1000mhz(7x143)/1.80v under Win98se/Win2000.

P3-750 is another good choice. It's about $10-20 more than 700, still you can reach 1005mhz(7.5x134) at lower FSB. But of course, higher FSB means better performance.

Good cooling is a must!

IsPup is right. My cpu won't do you any good with your current mb.
My cpu does 1000mhz+ but with your mb, 933mhz is the max.
Still if you want it, I'll sell it to you at $205 shipped.(forget my email reply)
