Hey guys! My PSU has just recently shot on me and I would love to get a new one. I'm a noob when it comes toward picking the right and cost effective one. So I would enjoy some really good input. I'll post some pictures of what I currently have. I'm not entirely sure what to get, so links to the PSU would be great. Also, I would like to get a 1000W one. I was told that my 800W is a tad risky for what I run.

Some Specs:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: G1.Guerrilla
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 10240MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 10238MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 & NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

Thanks again! Hoping to be up and running ASAP. Also, the shield around the PSU in the pictures is off.

With that setup you only need ~600W if you want the best of the best (no matter cost)

Then Seasonic Platinum 660W

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013...num660_660w_power_supply_review/#.UZ0xiZxc6jA

from the conclusion
The Seasonic PLATINUM-660 is the newest member of the Seasonic PLATINUM line of power supplies we have reviewed, and when all is said and done it is probably the best power supply we have reviewed overall. The PLATINUM-660 posts the best voltage regulation we have ever seen, close to the best efficiency we have ever seen, it is for all intents and purposes is silent compared to other components in a system, has outstanding DC Output Quality, absolutely excellent build quality, and even posts better Transient Load responses than we have seen in a long time from a unit of such a capacity. Perhaps the only way the Platinum-660 gets better is if Seasonic was giving these away! In case they aren't giving these away, you can find it for sale over at Amazon for $149.99 with Prime Shipping. Sure that may seem like a lot for a 660W PSU, but for one that performs this incredibly well, it isn’t. When you buy a Seasonic PLATINUM-660 you are simply getting exactly what you paid for; quite possibly the best PSU we have ever reviewed.

If you're dead bent on 1000W seasonic also makes up to 1000W units.

For less you can get other good PSU's.

I have that exact PSU and it also stopped working (stand by but won't power on) It's just a rebranded Apevia unit, it won't do its rated wattage but it isn't a terrible power supply. Although, I recommend the one that biostud linked in his post. That is an AWESOME unit and will have no troubles powering your system

Get a 600 watt from one of these manufacturers and you will do fine:

Antec
Cooler Master
Corsair
Enermax
PC Power and Cooling
Rosewill
Seasonic
Silverstore
Zalman

another vote for the seasonic plats - people say just pick anything from a reputable brand, and they're right. That being said, putting the money down now can end up paying off later IMO.

660w would be fine:

however, if you 'd rather go with 800w:

and if you're dead set on 1000w:

and the most cost effective 800w IMO is a corsair:

I agree just get a Corsair 600 watt, I am using it right now and works like a charm. Can't never go wrong with corsair, however, others work as fine as well, but since I own corsair I can vouch for it.

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to check these out. Leaning toward that 1000W just to stay in the safe zone on power. I really appreciate all this, thanks again!

Definitely get a certified efficient PSU. I would suggest getting a modular one as well, makes installation so much less of a hassle. Unless you are planning on running quad video cards or some other such beastly config I doubt you will ever load a 1000w sufficiently to justify it's purchase.
