its a 19" S900M iiyama for 265+shipping.>>

It's ok, doesnt bother me. Every company has those refurbished stores and old crappy models.

<<Question: this monitors specs in heading say .26mm DP. then in detailed specs its says 0.22mm horizontal*0.13mm vertical? what gives? whats the .26mm DP then?>>

The only REAL dot pitch is the diagonal pitch, of course they arent gonna tell you about it. According to this description, the diagonal is 0.26, horizontal is 0.22. They use horizontal to fool people, because it looks much better. But technically only diagonal counts. I have seen Samsung monitors with 0.20mm horizontal, now that must've sounded amazing, but it's in fact only about 0.24mm when it comes to diagonal.

<<Question: Whats a Shodow Mask CRT? is it a cheaper/poorer CRT than Trintron/Aperture Grille?>>

Shadow mask CRT and Aperture Grille CRT are completely two different beasts. I can't describe them technically, but I can tell you what they look like. If you use a magnifying glass to look at shadow mask, you see
circular shaped dots placed at a triangular shape. If you look at AG closely, you'll see stripes instead of dots. SM monitors tend to give sharper image and text, AG monitors tend to be bright, vivid, and clean. You'll have to see them yourself to get a good idea though. Now for the technical information, check Hitachi's guide, or Firingsquad's guide. Hitachi is kinda biased because their monitors are SM based, so they'll bash AG.
