Looking for new 19" monitor to replace aging Hitachi 751

Anyone have an opinion on this? I am looking for something totally flat.... I think i'm leaning towards
Sony but if anyone out there has some other ideas I'd be open to suggestions.....

Why do you consider it aging? The 751 is a great monitor. Ok anyway, here is a few that I highly recommend:

1. Samsung SyncMaster 900NF (Mitsubishi DiamondTron Natural Flat) -$440
2. KDS AV-195TF (Sony FD Trinitron) -$460
3. Samsung SyncMaster 900IFT (Samsung DynaFlat shadow mask) -$400
4. Hitachi SuperScan CM771 (Hitachi ErgoFlat shadow mask) -$450
 
u have a good monitor. will not be easy to replace.

I know I know... it has been a good monitor... it just isn't that flat. I recently saw a flat triniton and I was impressed......
 
never saw trinitron, but this monitor is *perfectly* flat. I mean F-L-A-T flat. If what u saw wasn't absolutely, perfectly flat, it wasn't a Pro (or was broke). You know they have a non-Pro 450, right? (which is not flat)

i heard Sony's were the best too - forget the model, but general consensus is that Sony's rule - but co$t so dang much.
 
I agree with LXi. The Iiyamas are seriously overpriced. They use a mitsubishi diamondtrom tube. If you want to spend that much money I recommend the NEC FP950, which is a beautiful diamondtron monitor with more options the the visionmaster.

&quot;dont he&quot;?? Nice grammar there. No I dont hate Iiyama. They're just overpriced and IMO Samsung and KDS are better because they can be had for hundreds less with comparable specs/warranty.

Yep, iiyama is overpriced, and Sony is even more overpriced. 🙂

IMHO, Hitachi, KDS, and Samsung are the best monitors to shoot for.

Question: this monitors specs in heading say .26mm DP. then in detailed specs its says 0.22mm horizontal*0.13mm vertical? what gives? whats the .26mm DP then?

Question: Whats a Shodow Mask CRT? is it a cheaper/poorer CRT than Trintron/Aperture Grille?
