Are there any portable MP3 players with an AM tuner? Most of my radio listening consists of talk radio on my local AM station. I was wondering if there is an iPod or iRiver with an AM tuner.
I said local. I like to listen to O'Reilly, Hannity and Savage, but I can't do that while I'm in the gym so I like to listen to them on an MP3 jukebox while I'm on the treadmill.Originally posted by: doublejbass
Clearchannel will be happy to broadcast directly into your head, you just need to let them install the adapter.

FYI, good AM radio antennas are too large and require too much shielding against other components to be put in a HD-sized MP3 player, let alone a smaller flash player.
That's more like it except the price/performance ratio is a little off. $250 for 512mb or storage?Originally posted by: bowserjs
what about this

That's weird since most clock radios don't even need antennas for AM stations.

Actually they do, but bar antennas are usually placed internally. Also amplitude modulation is very sensitive to interference. I can't actually "hear" some of the engine electronics in my car on some AM frequencies on my car radio. (It was an RPM dependant noise)
