i just purchased an xp 1800 and i thought it would work with my current mobo, but it looks like it might not. in case i dont get it fixed, i might go out and buy another one tomorrow. i DONT overclock, so it doesnt need to be too friendly in that area. im looking for one that can be updated to use newer processors in the future.

thanks

By newer processors, does that include future 400MHz DDR FSB AMD Athlon processors? That looks like a job for NF7 Rev 1.2 or NF7-S rev 1.2.

i bought an epox 8rda+. i dont supposed i could use my stick of 512 pc133 of ram until my new ddr ram arrives?

Nope

nForce2 motherboards are DDR only

I would hands down buy a new nForce2 board. I own an Asus A7N8X Deluxe myself and love the board. Audio is great, more features than I can find uses for right now.

The VIA KT400 and KT400a doesn't support any processors over 333, so they are a waste and I still have a sour taste in my mouth about Sis. Been there since the Pentium2 days. I can't get over it yet.

The new KT600 from VIA is going to officially support the soon to be released 400 MHz fsb Athlon chips. But that isn't slated until May I believe.

So, hands down nForce2 chipset. Asus, Abit, Epox (another sour taste, personal reasons), MSI, or Chaintech. I have heard pretty good things about all of them. The Chaintech is all "bling bling" and comes with rounded cables in box....
