I am looking for a game I lost when a hard drive malfunctioned. I have been a fan of xcom, and must have originally found it while searching for xcom stuff, The game starts out on a space station, and the troops travel to Earth on a sphere type craft for the missions. I have been searching for awhile, and can not find anything that reminds me of the game. It wasn't a great game, but it was fun. Does anyone remember what this game is? Thanks

I'd call directory assistance.

On a serious note, I am not familiar with that game. But if you are looking for something in the vein of Xcom, try www.xenonauts.com.

I don't have any idea how old the game is. I found it and played it within the last 2 years.

You are going to have to tell us a bit more about the game.

But, just for the heck of it here are a few xcom like games that are worth checking out:

UFO: Alien Invasion
Incubation: Time Is Running Out

Also, you might keep an eye on the new xcom inspired indy game Xenonauts. If they ever actually launch it (it has missed it's release date 2 times now, and is closing in on a year late) then it should be a really good game.

I wanted to add more info about the game as I can remember. The game starts out on a space station. Once systems start coming on line you begin to get calls from Earth below. The missions are usually combat or rescue. Their are two main races that you deal with. One are psionics and the other are large Humanoids. After you have helped these races some of their people will ask to join your crew, and that is how you gain most of your people. Once you have won some missions, territory will become available. You have to build transfer tubes to the territory where you can then build bases. When you have the base, there is usually only 3 or 4 spaces on each for all of your research or manufacturing facilities, so you have to keep gaining areas for your bases. The enemies of the game are assorted aliens and rogue humans. You can move the space station over different areas for scanning and to send down your combat team. They travel down in a golfball shaped craft fo the combat and rescue missions. Si if anyone can remember this game, I sure would like to find it again, as it was a fun little game to play.

Sounds like UFO: Aftershock perhaps?

Or maybe the 3d game in the series UFO: Afterlight

The first game in the series is called UFO: Aftermath, but it does not sound like that's the one you are talking about

No it is not Aftermath, I did play it after the one I am looking for. I could not get either of the sequels to work on my old computer.

That's tricky, Aftershock really fits the exact description you were providing, as far as the space station over earth, and attacking territories on the ground and civilians joining your cause if you free them or what not...

Not sure what else it could be if it isn't Aftershock.
