Hello .. I only have a minute to post, so little detail atm. Anyways, I just put in a new NF7-S 2.0 board to replace my old KT3 Ultra v1.0. I had some Kingston HyperX PC2700 running like 162 FSB with "Normal" timings on the KT3 Ultra, was as high as it would go stabily.
Anyways, I was thinkin cool new NForce 2 board, gotta try 166 at 5-2-2-2 timings (The HyperX is advertised to run at this speed with these timings).
So it works sort of (boots), other than the occasional lockup, random reboot, etc. So no it doesn't work at 166 5-2-2-2. I try a memtest at this speed, 4 or 5 passes without ANY errors. But still in WinXP Pro, at 166 5-2-2-2 I get lockups and random reboots. Currently running at 160 FSB with relaxed timings (6-3-3-2.5 I think).
BTW my CPU is an overclocked 2100+, runs like 45-47C-ish at 2166, but I've not been able to keep the system running for long before it locks, so it could get higher. Right now its 44.5C at 2080mhz. My CPU cooling is not great, but not bad either - a Glaciator 2 (probably will replace soon).
Anyone have any suggestions? I'll probably get some PC3200 here shortly, my feeling is the RAM is the problem. Sorry for little detail, maybe its not enough for a good answer. I just got the system rebuilt late last night and haven't really had enough time to play with it.
