Allright, so I sort of had this problem, where i got these memory error BSOD's in Vista64, so I had to take 2 sticks of crucial ballistix out, 1GB each. I had 4 sticks, rated for ddr2 1066/5-5-5-15. now, I think they were from different batches, and I also understand that having 4 sticks can bring system instability. now, with only 2 sticks, everything works fine. Odd thing is, they worked for a long time, b4 acting up. mb the second batch i bought is having issues, idk.

anyways, since I am now down to only 2 GB, I am in the market for some good OC 2x2 GB memory, ddr2 of course. I have been looking at several interesting choices, and I am sort of leaning towards the corsair dominator. I read online that it does very well with nvidia boards, and that it OC's well. heard someone got it up around 1200. also heard this about the green patriot stuff, and its SLI ready, so I figure that would be good for my board. another choice, that a friend recommended, is the ocz reaper, but I heard it doesnt clock as well, especially on nvidia boards. Anyways, I am leaning probably towards the dominator, but would like some advice.

With a Q6600 G0, why spend the extra $ on 1066 ram when DDR2-800 will get you all the OC you'd ever need? Set the FSB/Ram ratio 1:1 and that leaves you room to run the fsb up to 400 which is more than enough room for OC's on the Q6600.

hmm, keep in mind that the nvidia boards have the option of setting memory independent of fsb speeds. which can be nice to play with once the cpu oc is stable. anyways, with the crucial i have now, I am actually pretty lucky(save having only 2 GB) as indicated by this review of their tracer LED counterparts. http://www.eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=1,99,0,0,1,0&p=2

basically, It will do over 1200 easily in a good board. back when i was a noob, I got the stuff to about 1150 stable on stock voltage on an xfx 680i LT. imagine what could be done on a more modern board with 2.1 volts... :p

anyways, I am about to test that now, though i am still looking forward to ordering the GSkill JonW suggested.
