I have an NVidia GeForceMX 420 Video card that has VGA out and an S-video out. I have been able to hook up my normal monitor and my secondary monitor (TV) before so that it was horizontal spaning, and would resize windows to fit on individual monitors. I reformatted recently and am having a hard time getting back to these basic original settings. Now I can hook up and see on both monitors, and using the Nvidia GeForce settings I can set it to horizontal spanning but it doesn't resize the window when i try to drag them over to it (such as WMP). it tries to stretch out the window so that it's on both windows.

I used to use a program called ultramon that had all kinds of options and made sure that the moved windows were resized. It even had a little button that I could click on that would be near the Minimize button on the window that would transfer it to and from the other monitor. I'm looking for a program like this or if anyone could help me that would be great. thanks.

can't you do what you want with the "right-click in the desktop of the monitor you want to change, choose properties, click settings, _ajust_whatever_" ??

If I'm missing something, just ignore me....

yes, i have been trying it but it doesn't seem to have the options i need/want. This is the reason I dreaded reformatting, now I have to put everything back together and I can't remember how.

Just an FYI, I did find multimon a while back- but for some reason it made my system run really slow - refreshing anything on the second monitor took +1second, and the taskbar at the bottom was also very slow.
