Looking for easy MP3 trimming program

What's a good small mp3 trimming program that doesn't require you to pay for the "pro" version? I remember someone recommended a good one to me and I liked it but I can't find it anywhere on my Comp anymore. It might still be on here but I don't remember the name of it.

Need to do things like trim 2 minutes off the front/end of an mp3.

That might of been it...or it might of been the one I hated, I can't tell yet 😛

Opened the mp3 I wanted to trim, trimmed it, now all I can do is save it as a aup file? Or I can 'Export as mp3' and it requires lame vbr? It was already an MP3 (in lame VBR infact) and shouldn't need to be re-encoded...right? That seems to be my only option though. When I tried to 'Export as mp3' the file size became smaller =/ - I'm thinking maybe this was the program I hated, heh.

I'm not sure because I haven't used Audacity, but sometimes when you open an audio file in audio editors, they convert it to WAV for editing and then you can save it in whatever format you want. In this case, you need to point it to the LAME executable. If memory serves you can get compiled versions of LAME at http://www.rarewares.org.

OK nm, I see you already converted it. One reason the filesize is smaller is because you are trimming silence off of it. If that isn't the culprit, The only other thing is it's not keeping the file the same bitrate. There is probably an option somewhere that will allow you to choose what bitrate you want to save the file.

Argh...all these programs are complicated. Mp3DirectCut seems a bit better, but it's still much harder than it should be to just trim down an mp3 file. I edited one without much trouble in directcut but the next one I tried it won't let me save without "Re-Syncing" the mp3...and this process goes on for a long, long time 😛 - So, that doesn't seem right either.

maybe your MP3 is messed up somehow... i've used mp3DirectCut several times and i never got the "Re-Syncing" problem. unfortunately, the software isnt intuitive at all....but it works.
