Looking for "digital graph paper" software

Hello all,

I have been looking all over the internet for some software that would let me plot lines onto some virtual graph paper. No luck yet. I don't want a CAD or drawing program. I just want to make up some blueprints for a deck and a garage so I need to be able to add some text for measurements and change grid size to indicate lumber dimensions. I know CAD will do the job, but it's a little frustrating grasping the learning curve when all you are trying to accomplish is something like basic drawing. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am open to any alternative suggestions. Thank you 🙂

you want something like visio or Dia?

or when you say "I don't want a cad or drawing program", do you mean you don't want a *complicated* cad or drawing program? maybe you want something like autosketch?

Dia looks like what I am looking for, I'll try out. Looking for a demo of auto sketch.

I meant I don't want a complicated CAD/drawing program, I am just looking to plot down some simple drawing shapes and don't want to learn all of the intricacies of a CAD program just to do that. I could just use a pencil and graph paper, but I wanted to use something more advanced then an eraser to edit my work with plus I will be showing it to someone else so it will have to look neat.

Thanks a bunch for the links 🙂
