I'm in the mood to hear some depressingly dark and moody music. Something equally in parts, spooky, ethreal, ominous and yet beautiful. It does'nt matter what genre, but I'd be really interested in finding dark jazz or classical music (especially classical with lots of cello playing).

    any suggestions

how about some Black Sabbath.. or Mars Volta... maybe some Typo-Negative or for a single track, how about AIC: Sludge Factory or Mad Season: River of Deceit...

listen to the beginning of Primus: Southbound Pachyderm... always makes me feel dark and ominous.

can't help you much on the classical side, sorry man

Although there's vocals, Opeth's Damnation fits the bill IMO.

Dead can Dance. I can't believe people are recommending pop and metal in this thread. Sigh.

Let me just add you WANT to hear the dvd. They recorded on 2 24-track studer tape machines from a neve console. Insane for location sound.
