Looking for cheap places to travel this year. With cell internet.

I'm looking for some cheap countries and places to travel to this year. I want to spend maybe 2-3 months out and about. My main requirement is to have pretty good cell phone and internet coverage as I still have to manage a business while I'm abroad, and emails and skype calling would be invaluable.

I don't speak any languages besides English and some shitty Chinese.

I don't mind camping. I seriously don't care if I have to sleep on the ground every night, as long as it's safe.

Hike the White Mountains in NH. Camping is dirt cheap in the area (as anywhere). You can buy a bunch of dried/canned goods and cook yourself stuff the whole time. Cell reception is slightly patchy, but you won't have to go too far to get something.

Acadia, you can camp in the park for $20/night. There's no reception in the park, but nearby Bar Harbor has plenty of reception.

Real bummer about the reception requirement in general, though. Otherwise, I'd just say that any National Park will do you.

Get your ass to Thailand. Bangkok. Or even Phuket. You can easily find somewhere to sleep for dollars a night, and food is ultracheap and right on the street.

It's still in the states but I'm a sucker for Hawaii. You can do it on a budget if you try. Maui specifically. I had good reception there. Even facetime'd the fam while in a car (I didn't but the passenger did) (I love tethering) 😛

Central America. Go where you find the cheapest plane ticket. Stay away from the Mexico/USA border and it's plenty safe.

Internet cafe's may be your best bet for internet in some of these countries you're considering. I know the Philippines had them in some of the provinces I visited, and a friend I know in the Galapagos Islands always uses them.
