Looking for CD based hardware diagnostic tools

I've been asked repeatedly by friends and family to repair their ailing PC's. While troubleshooting software related problems has given me no headaches (so far), troubleshooting hardware has been challenging at times. I am wondering if there is some sort of troubleshooting tools that can be ran from CD and is reasonably priced? (under $100.00) Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
