Just like the title says.

1 IDE connector
SATA2 (at least 4 ports) *with RAID*
Firewire
at least 2 PCI slots

(I'm assuming a board with this would have the other "standard" features like USB, PCI-X16 slot, etc)

It doesn't look like I'm asking for much, does it? But, ridiculously, to my knowledge the only C2D boards with all those features are > $220.

Firewire is the ah heck. There are boards with all those features except firewire...but I'd like to utilize the front firewire port on my case, and not use up a PCI 2.0 slot or have to spend $80 for a PCI-X1 compatible firewire card.

thanks!

the gigabyte DS3 has all those features and I see it for 180 cdn regularly. It has no raid 5 although I don't see why you'd ever need it. Raid 5 sucks unless it's a dedicated controller card with a dedicated microprocessor. And that sucks unless it's on a PCI-X bus =p. It's still got 1, 0, and 0+1, and jbod. It has 6 sata conectors.

Actually, the DS3 has no on-board firewire, making it a no-go.

I'm starting to think such a board doesn't even exist yet. There are plenty of feature-packed mid range boards for every other platform; when are they coming out for Core 2 Duo? I was under the impression that once the chip was released, new motherboards would come pouring in, but I've seen virtually no activity the last few weeks.

Thanks n7, that's my best bet so far.

I'm sure I'm starting to sound like a complainer, but where are the full-featured C2D boards in the $100-150 range, like the K9N Platinum for AM2? Why does the AM2 platform already have many such boards but there are NONE for Core 2 Duo? Any idea when they'll be coming out?

Intel has screwed up with its initial batch of G965 chipsets, so there is a delay with boards based on G965 chipset. Should be available in the end of August, I guess

i have the opposite complaint!! I don't know if the K9N Platinum is ok or not, but almost all Conroe boards have now been tested and we know which ones get you high FSB's.. not in AM2 land.. there are no tests that i've come across..
