Looking for an SSD

I decided to hold off on the SSD's for now. One reason my Dad is using Windows XP and I heard there is alot more maintenance with SSD's on an XP machine. Plus I am going to wait for prices to drop. Hopefully when the next generation of drives come out, prices will drop then. I may buy one for myself in the next few months and wait a year or two on Dads machine.

Where do you think SSD's will be at a year from now? Will the prices be less than $1? Will they be faster compared to now or would that be limited to motherboard capabilities?

a price of less than 1$ per GB is unlikely but possible, since currently it is slightly above 2$/GB for most drive sizes. probably we will see a little under 1.5$/GB
