Looking for an RTS....

If you're looking for a slower-paced RTS with a deep and complex strategy that can be played in online multiplayer against human opponents but that isn't a button-mashing APM-based clickfest, I suggest Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.

That one always struck me as EVE Offline.

There was also the Act of War: Direct Action & AOW: High treason RTS games... pretty good, except for trying to get them to run on windows 7/8. It can be done, but you really need to jump through hoops.

They also dont run on XP if you have more than 2 gigs of RAM.

And that trick using MSCONFIG doesnt work for me.

Too bad I dont know how to run a virtual OS.

It's not even close. EVE is a spreadsheet nerdgasm while Sins is an amazing RTS game.
