1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Light gaming like Rakion: Chaos Force, internet etc...just a do it all system but not looking for a FPS beast

2. What YOUR budget is.
Looking for preferably around 600 bucks

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
USA

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
Which ever brand will overclock like hell and perform...probably intel at this point?

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Just a LCD

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Overclocking of course

Only thing i have narrowed it down to is a video card...which is probably the evga 8800gt...but i don't know how that will fit in with the budget so any advice is appreciated

You can get the abit ip35-e for 60$ at newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/...7031&Tpk=abit%2bip35-e use this CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819116036 jack up the FSB to 333, for 3.0ghz. Ram like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820211066 I mean, no need for 2x2gb and you´re on a budget so yeah. Go pick a HD yourself, seagate 250gb or so ? This case might be a little to expensive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...2E16811129025&Tpk=p182 but you could always head over to microcenter and pick up a cm 690 for 25$ or so, also a great case. Now, mouse, keyboard, that's stuff you can do yourself. All you need is a PSU. This will do nicely, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...E16817139003&Tpk=450vx but you should check the hot deals section, I think you can get a 550vx for 67$ or so at buy.com. Earthwatts 430w will do to, but you'd have to find a nice deal on it.

i wish i had more to start off with, but my current desktop is rather old...i mean p4 3.2HT old and everything in it is pretty much obsolete...no sata drives etc. PSU is only 400w, ram is only 1gb of ddr...nothing much i can really reuse.

as for the cooler? what cooler should i look into

i guess i don't need a dvd drive since i have that...lol so that should save me enough for a dope HSF unit

Don't bother buying an aftermarket heatsink for the 2160. On your budget, that would be a waste of money since the stock cooler should take you to at least 2.7-3.0 Ghz.

As far as reusing, I wasn't talking as much about the stuff in the box, just everything else.

Do you need to buy the following, or do you already have them?
-Operating System
-Keyboard
-Mouse
-Speakers and/or Headphones

thanks for the replies guys,

as for the video card would the xfx gt 521mb a better buy or the evga...since evga has that lifetime warranty deal like bfg used to have in the day where if your card stops working they send u a replacement.

xfx has a double lifetime warranty. you can sell the xfx video card and the new owner will still have the lifetime warranty as well.

The original buyer has to register the card within 30 days of purchase, which isn't uncommon these days. The second owner also has to register within 30 days of the secondary sale I believe. (Now, how XFX will know whether you did or not since most person to person sales don't involve receipts, I don't know.) Other than that, the warranty covers basically everything, even if you replace the stock cooler.

I got the Abit ip35-e and E2160 and put it together this weekend and I'm very happy with it. It overclocked to 2.7GHz at stock voltage and 3.0 with only a minor bump, all with the stock cooler. It's pretty quiet too.... Good luck!
