I have a lot of Iranian friends and decided it was time to learn...above armenian, the language of my heritage.

do you guys have any suggestions for a good entry level "teach yourself" text?

beyah injah......

you can use a book, but like other languages you have to use it daily to really learn it's nuances.

plus there are a bunch of dialects and then there is also proper Farsi, which is what the books will probably teach you, that no one uses.

well as an Iranian who has trouble speaking the language but understands it ,the best way to learn is to try to speak it. A book is not going to help you. You need one of those computer softwares that have audio. You can buy them in malls and on ebay. It would help if you practiced with your Iranian friends.

it is spoken around me...but I would like to have a book for reference and help.

and yes, eggland is great...it's filled with undersexed, over-masturbated nitpicking ATOT'ers. 🙂
