In regards to this thread, http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2030997, I am not trying to find a good deal on an articulating wall mount.

I need at least a 26" extension from the wall, I need to be able to turn my TV 90 degrees. Ive been browsing amazon, but there are so many different brands/models I really feel like a noob :(

Can anyone recommend a good quality articulating wall mount with the requirement that I listed? Thanks

:)

26"? egads, thats going to put a decent amount of force on the mount points.

don't buy a cheap one, you won't like it
they wobble and won't hold the TV at the square so all the water in the pictures will tilt to the side

You will want to spend a good amount on a GOOD mount that articulates. Otherwise, crash goes your TV.

I bought a cheap articulating one for my 37" in my bedroom, and it was trash, it limped.

you want an articulating wall mount for a 52" TV?
:\

you are going to have to spend some big bucks and you'll have to open up the wall and add a cross member between the studs to hold the weight steady

I should mention that I upgraded my TV and got the 52", and that one is only rated to 50"

ignore the size criteria. they set those up as a guideline for approximating weight.
weight difference between a 50" and 52" is negligible. especially since they are also accommodating heavier plasmas.

the only issue regarding size is the width of the tv, which may limit its ability to swivel (by fractions of an inch).

Why is that? A lot of these wall mounts that I see are rated for damn near 200 pounds. My 52" LCD weighs around 60.

nope, not necessary.
50" PLASMA (heavy mofo - about 100# with the mount attached), 4 bolts on 2 studs, sturdy as can be.
no sag, smooth motion, IF you buy a quality mount.

Yeah and thats whats most important to me, I need a 90 degree swivel :(

now you're just making excuses to not spend this much on a QUALITY mount.

if you can get full 90* swivel with a 50", you will with a 52".
if you can't with a 52", you won't be able to with a 50" as well.
the horizontal difference between the 2 is at most an inch.

Again, I have never set up one of these things before, but this one looks pretty good to me. Its rated for a weight thats about 3x of what my TV weighs, and the reviews are pretty darn good. The price is right too.

doesn't meet your 26" requirement

i'm sure it'll mount and hold the tv.
whether it glides, swivels and tilts as smooth as the higher quality mounts is quesitonable.

Check Monoprice. They have a shitload of mounts there for all sizes and applications for a lot cheaper than I've seen elsewhere.
