I am building a new rig, and I would like to buy a new mobo, and have been doing some research on different mobo's, however, I have come to the conclusion that I would like to get an AMD Mobo, but with the research I have done thusfar, I think I would like some other opinions. MY GOAL: AMD Mobo, 3 slots for ram, less than $100.00, fast, reliable, and potential for 800 FSB. If I have said anything not making sense than please feel free to correct me, for I am fairly new to building PC's. So, any other cheap recomendations for any other parts would also be appreciated. I most definetley DO NOT want to build no slouch. I would like to build a screamin machine, but would like to try to keep it under a grand if possible. A little over or under is fine. Well, I'll stop writing my book now, and hope to get some nice leads to build one hell of a rig!
Thanks, Livewire42

I'd go with the gigabyte k8nf-9 with athlon 64 3000 socket 939. Both will run you about $270. I can't recommend a pci-e video card. But I do recommend using just 2 ddram slots. With 4, some boards will run at a slower speed. 2 512 sticks should be plenty. I've used mushkin and pdi for value, but crucial ballistix is recommended for overclocking, if you have enough left in your budget. I would save the memory decision for last.
