Looking for Advice on Radeon x1800 XT 512 MB

I have read many users comparing the latest high-end video cards available from ATI and nVidia. However, I am seeking evaluations of the Radeon x1800 XT 512 MB processor from people who actually have the card. Is it worth the $600? What are the assets and liabilities attending the card? How well does it perform for video? games?

I am seriously considering a video upgrade given the relative impotence of my current card (128 MB Radeon x300, which runs Half-Life 2 flawlessly but could run other games better) and the recent high-end card price drops.

Well I don't get my x1800xt until tomorrow so I can't get an eval of both, but 600 is overpriced, I paid 489.

If you need one depends on the rest of your setup and what resolution/settings you game at, there are a lot of cards out that would obliterate your x300

Its worth for Elderscroll 4 :) That game would be 1st to really require more than 256MB video memory if you want to play it in high res :)

I am about to recieve mine, I got it for $522 shipped, Retail Lite. $600 is ridiculous, check the Real Time Price Engine thing here.
