Hey all, I currently have a Dell manufactured 17" Trinitron monitor and I like it alot, but I have been looking at 19"-21" for gaming. Does anyone have any particular model they would reccomend or brands? Like KDS? The local store carries alot of KDS stuff and I'm wondering if they are any good.

But in particular, I'm looking for a monitor that has this feature... I have a button on my monitor that lets me choose between "Standard Mode", "Presentation Mode", and "Graphics/Video Mode" and I really love having that ... when I go into Graphics/Video Mode it makes it SOOO MUCH SHARPER! Hopefully theres a monitor out there with this feature.

Your input is much appreciated!

Well from my experience, Sony monitors have fantastic graphics (probably the "sony" trinitron technology.......:)). But I hear alot of naysayers talk bad about Sony.

I personally can't afford Sony's so I usually go the Princeton/Viewsonic route simply for reliablity and cost.

I am sure there are some newer manufacturers that have really put out some really good monitors, but I use to have to go replace KDS monitors all the time because that was the monitor my company used. The replacement rate was about that of CD-ROM drives. So I steer clear of KDS personally, but I haven't seen one for a few years so who knows, maybe they have gotten better.

(My Princeton is on its fourth year and I have zero problems with it. It always remembers its settings and has given me much enjoyment. It has little or no problems in the corners with clarity or color and the only reason I will replace it in the near future is if I can get a 19" or 21".)

I've been using a Viewsonic for the last 2 1/2 years, but it's starting to flip out on me. :( I may still get another one though because I love the way it looks. Either that or I'm looking at the Samsung 900NF. I've heard too many positives on it not to consider it.

Sad to say that KDS went out of business...I have a VS-19sn that I got for about $230. It's a 19" monitor that has the same footprint as a normal 17" monitor. You can do a search on Pricegrabber and you'll get a whole list of KDS monitors that you can get for under the market price because they're not in business anymore. Hope this helps.
