I plan on transferring over some files from my old harddrive (mostly music) and was wondering what the best way to do this is. I'm also adding an LG 18x DVD Burner from my old system.

This looks like a good build. I might change the mobo for the tried and tested DS3 and change the burner to the Samsung 183L but I like just about everything else.

for transferring files you can either network the pc's or just move the old drive into the new system and directly copy (if its only a few gigs networking is fine if its hundreds of gigs moving the drive will speed things up dramatically).

thanks for the advice. I decided to go with the DS3 and switched the power supply to the corsair 520w modular

Pretty close to the system I just ordered. Same motherboard and so far everything I've read leads me to believe this is the best 650 based board out yet. Besides Gigabyte has an awesome rep don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

I actually went with the Wintec Ampo memory since several friends bought them (after reading a few reviews) and they go over 500Mhz on 2.1v which is more then enough of an overclock for me and they are cheap. Don't get me wrong the Corsair is a fine piece of ram but there are cheaper alternatives out there.

I've built several systems/servers with those (and some of the other versions) cases and they have a high bang for the buck ratio.

I would bump up to a 400/500gb hd, diff is minimal and nowadays you fill them up fast. Other then that I would trade out the Lite-on (they are very good I've own many Lite-on's but they are rather noisy).
