Hi, I recently got a laptop so now I'm in the market for a wireless router. Making a big mistake I purchased the WRT54GX2 from Dell with my laptop without looking at reviews. While it works fine with my wired connection it can't seem to pass an IP to my laptop wirelessly. I've tried everything and so I call dell to return it. Then after looking at reviews across the web I'm glad I did as it seems 70% of reviews are bad.
So I'm looking for a new stable and fast wireless router. Here are 3 I've been eyeing, based on Tom's hardwares router list.

WRT54GL: Last linux version left, pretty good reviews although with base firmware it's pretty slow. Not sure if flashing to new linux firmware will help. However it is the cheapest. ($50)
D-Link Wireless 108G Gaming Router: Lots of good reviews, although lots of people mention drops in connection. Lots of features, but very pricey ($150), even for what you get. Also people report problems between D-link routers and non-D-link cards.
D-Link DI-634M: Similar performance as the card above, but cheaper ($80). However I've heard that MIMO routers don't work well in a non-MIMO enviroment.
I'm leaning towards the WRT54GL, if I knew that new linux firmware helped it catch up to the others in terms of speed.
Any suggestions, comments, or other routers to look at are appreciated.
Thanks - John
