my budget is 250 bucks
what is the best card I can get in this price range?
I prefer ati but would get nvidia if the cost/bang ratio was better
I would also prefer crossfire but it is not mandatory

It is a much faster card, yes.

The reason you might want more RAM on the card is for ultra-high resolution gaming. But the only competitive ATI card would be a 512MB x1950XTX, which costs $350 or more, and isn't as fast as the nvidia cards.

Some new ultra high end ATI cards are coming out sometime in the next two weeks, so if you can wait, wait.
