looking for a VAN

I'm sick of my small ass ford escort, what I really want now is a full-size van! Of course I know very little about vans, so I'm posting here. I do not want a mini-van, I want a full--size van. I dont care about brands, and I dont care for the ugly vans. Any ideas?

full size van? are you crazy, those thing are gas guzzlers, unless your using 4 business, i sugguest you get S
UV or mini-van..

Y full size Van

Not that bad on gas. I get 15-18 MPG. 350 engine and extended version. Vans are great, but you need to get rear heat and air. It sucks to be in the back seat of my van with no rear heat or air.

The great thing is that the older models are CHEAP! (Of course, my tranny and engine died at 100,000 miles.)

An interesting case here. Not too many people want full-sized vans (aside from commercial duty) these days. Often you will find that commercial vans with their heavy-duty suspension and design to be less than comfortable.

Which leads to the unusual, yet very capable (and stylish) Volkswagen Eurovan. Its full-size, but with the options and comfort features that customers expect and demand in a passenger vehicle. Although somewhat underpowered (certainly so compared to some full-sized vans)....it still offers a decent powertrain coupled with a comfortable ride. The only negative i can think of is its rather steep price, as it exceeds 30 grand in some configurations.

Yeah those things are a nightmare to heat/cool without rear air. My parents had two different full size vans when we were growing up. It was absolutely GREAT as a little kid going on long trips with all that room for toys and stuff. That's actually what I took my driver's test in too (if you can parallel park one of those bad boys you ought to automatically pass.)

I guess you know your needs best, but I personally think you're nuts for wanting a full-size van. Most of them ARE ugly even though they're very useful. They all look pretty much the same to me so I have a hard time seeing how you can distinguish between ugly and 'not ugly.' And the reliability on most of them isn't the greatest (although we did get close to 200,000 on one of ours.) Not to mention that they're not much fun to drive, especially if you live an urban area and have to deal with crowded parking lots all the time. I'll be another person to recommend a mini-van if van is the route you're going to take. Some of those are actually VERY fun to drive. They drive like a car, but have the same view as an SUV (actually better since they don't have as much of a nose on them.)

Why?

Have you ever driven a full sized fan? it's like driving a miniature school bus around town, NOT FUN! Dude I could see if you needed it for business, but for personal use it is extremely dumb idea (unless you're planning on living in it...)

This sounds like flamebait to me...

Ford Econoline

Cargo version is just simple metal interior for plumbers, electricians, painters and such.

Passenger version has seats and interior like a mini-van.
