I am in the process of buying a used car. I have narrowed it down to four options:

2005-2007 Ford F-150 XLT
2003-2005 Range Rover
2007-2008 FJ Cruiser
2007-2009 Honda Element

Does anyone have any experience with these cars and which would I be looking at for best reliability in terms of problems and cost to fix. I am looking for a 4x4 with decent storage space and good reliability. In terms of looks i prefer them in that order; however, as long as it gets the job done, I really don't care. Anyone care to offer some advice?

F150 by faaaaaar.

Range Rover = maintenance nightmare.
FJ = cool, but a bit overpriced and underpowered compared to the F150.
Honda Element = pretty practical urban cruiser, but it's not a real truck.

F-series is just solid. The '04+ redesign is also extremely safe in accidents. The redesigned interior is also quite good.

Range Rover, as said above, wouldn't be the best choice for maintenance.

Ford or element. RR can go to hell in maintenance and FJ cruisers look stupid plus hardly any on the road FWIW. F150 and element are not really in the same genre, though.

F150 is probably the best out of those you listed but you're comparing very different vehicles. Figure out what you really want out of your vehicle and that will help you narrow it down quite a bit.

This could be the oddest list ever of the most unrelated cars.

Range Rover is most badass, but it requires higher repair costs. Do something smart and get a cheap and reliable car.

Element is ugly,
FJ cruiser's styling reminds me of a matchbox car,
Range Rover I don't know much about,
F-150 yeah I'd do that one, and
I want some pancakes or waffles for breakfast.

My friend in college had his RRs air suspension fail when we were driving on the freeway. It had 12000 miles on it, at that point apparently it wasnt considered a big deal.
