I am looking for a KVM switch that will allow me to control 4 computers simultaneously. I think it is called broadcasting. I am mostly just interested in having 1 mouse and keyboard controlling the actions of two to four other computers. Mouse would be a priority over keyboard.
I am a gamer and I thought it would be fun to run 4 accounts in a certain game all at the same time. Normal KVM involves cycling between systems, but I have heard that some KVM's have what is called broadcasting ability, so that the mouse movement and keyboard strikes go to all computers on the switch simultaneously. Cost wise I dont want to go over 800 bucks, but it is something I reallywould like to do. Anyone have any idea or solutions to this problem?

They are not extremley expensive ... you can get a 4 port model
for around $150 or so (more if you buy it direct from them)

Yes but does the switch allow for broadcasting the mouse and keyboard commands to all computers simultaneously?

I am not sure ... you would need to select a model, then look at the user manual or the faq to
see if it can do what you need it to

ummm... i fail to see any use out of such a system... but if you get some of the cheapo wireless stuff, you can have one keyboard / mouse be picked up by multiple receivers.

It is used by people with limited space, but need access to
multiple computers .. at my brother's job, he has 3 seperate
pcs with various apps all running & needing interacton
at times (engineering) ... so these gizmos do have a use
If nobody wanted them, they wouldn't make them
